What electricians need from a website

People often look for an electrician for one of two reasons. Something has stopped working and they need someone soon, or something new needs wiring and they are weighing up who to trust with it. It helps when a page answers both: how soon you can come, and that you are licensed.

The electrician starting point covers the first with your hours, whether you are open now, and a Call button that stays at the bottom of a phone screen. It covers the second with your Electrical Workers Registration Board number, linked to the public register.

Already written for electricians

The page starts with these, under the heading "Services". You can rename them, rewrite them or add your own, up to twelve in all.

Fault finding and repairs
Tripping breakers, dead power points, flickering lights. We find the cause and fix that, not just the symptom.
Switchboard upgrades
Old fuse boards replaced with a modern switchboard and RCD protection. Many insurers now require it on older homes.
Lighting and power
New lighting, LED conversions, extra power points, outdoor and garage circuits, heat pump and EV charger connections.
New builds and renovations
Full electrical fit-out to plan, coordinated with your builder from pre-wire to final inspection.

The prices are examples, and every one is optional. A full price list or menu can go up as a PDF beside them.

Built for how electricians work

  • Your registration, checkable

Add your EWRB number and the site links it to the Board's register, where a customer can check your registration and practising licence. Master Electricians membership sits beside it.

  • Book a call-out by text

Book a call-out starts a text that already says "I'd like to book an electrician." The customer fills in the address and the problem, and you have it in writing.

  • Faults and projects, both listed

The services start as fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and power, and new builds. Rename them, add solar or heat pumps, and give each a from price or none.

  • Dark and urgent, or calm and local

An electrician starts on Patch, led by the areas you cover. After Hours, the dark one built for out-of-hours calls, is the next one along, and the one our electrician demo uses.

Licences and registrations

Your EWRB registration number shows with a link to the public register. Add Master Electricians membership and your NZBN in the same list, and nothing appears that you have not added.

What it costs

It costs nothing to build, or to take as a folder. It is $300 to put it live with a domain in your name, hosting and the first year looked after, then $99 a year, with no monthly platform fee and no software to keep updated. Changes are yours to make, at no cost: your link opens the site in the builder, and you put it live when you are ready. Nothing is taken until the site is in front of you and we are ready to go.

Have a logo and colours already? Use them in the builder. For your own fonts, a layout made around your brand, or more than one page, talk to us about a site built on your branding.

Prices and terms in full, and all the templates.

Where an electrician starts

It starts on Patch. After Hours and Docket suit electricians too, and every template is one tap away while you build.

Questions from electricians

Will it say I am closed at night?
Only if your hours say so. The line near the top reads "Open now, closes 5pm" or "Closed, opens 7:30am tomorrow", worked out from the hours you enter. Tick urgent calls and it adds that you take them outside those hours.
Can I add solar, heat pumps or EV chargers?
Yes. The services are a starting point; you can have up to twelve, in your own words, each with an optional from price or a note such as "Free quote".
Do I need a logo?
No. Each template sets your business name in its own type, which reads as a logo. Upload one if you have it.
What does a customer see when they check my registration?
The link opens the EWRB public register, where they can search your name or number. It is the Board's page, not ours, so what it shows is what the Board holds.

Start your site.

The builder opens with the electrician starting point already chosen. No cost to use, no account, and nothing to pay until the site is in front of you.
