Photography in Wellington

Buildings, events, people and places, photographed on commission for businesses and organisations in Wellington and across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The range

Architecture
Exteriors, interiors and details, in progress and on completion, delivered as a set.
A timber-slatted kiosk lit from within at night on a city corner, the figures of passers-by blurred by a long exposure.
Kiosk, Courtenay Place, Wellington
Documentary
Work, places and people over time, such as a build from first pour to hand-over, a season or a programme, photographed as a series over several visits rather than in one.

Smoke Signals series
Corporate and government events
Conferences, functions, launches, awards and ceremonies, covering the speakers, the room, the guests and the details.

Music and festivals
The stage, the crowd and backstage, in whatever light the venue has.

Dance floor
Weddings
The ceremony, the portraits and the reception, photographed in a documentary style.
Portraits
Headshots and portraits for teams, boards and profiles, on location or in the studio.
Studio and product
Products, objects and food on a clean ground or in context.
Drone
Aerial stills and 360 panoramas of sites, buildings and land.

Choosing the pictures and placing them, on a site or in print, is design. Panoramas open in the 360 viewer, which keeps the image on your machine.

How a booking runs

  1. Send an email saying what needs photographing, where it is and when.
  2. We will come back with a few questions about how the pictures will be used, getting access, the light and the deadline.
  3. You get a fixed price in writing, against a scope we have agreed together.
  4. Then comes the shoot, and after it the edited files, which are yours to keep.

How it is priced

Photography is priced per job rather than per hour, with one fixed price that covers the shoot, the edit and the files, which are yours to keep and use. Travel outside Wellington is quoted separately, so say where the job is when you send the brief.

The work

The work includes architectural documentation for practices, both while a building goes up and once it is finished, and events ranging from gallery openings, weddings and gigs to corporate and government functions. There are also documentary series, published as books and shown in exhibitions.

Get in touch.

Say what needs photographing, where and when, and we will come back with a few questions and then a fixed price for the agreed scope.
