Work

Work, and who it is built with

These are the sites, applications and tools Train Effect has designed and built, from security software to a children's story, each with a short account and a link to the thing itself. Some of them were built together with other studios, and those studios close the page.

Selected work

Small business websites
A web tool that lets a sole trader or a small business build its own one-page website in the browser, in a few minutes and with no technical knowledge. Every site is set up for search from the start, and once it is finished the business can take the site away to put online itself, or have us put it live on its own domain.Design and buildA web tool, on this site
A plumber's one-page site from the builder on a desktop and a phone.
Epigraph
Epigraph reads how an organisation's Microsoft Entra tenant is configured and turns it into the findings, risks, policies and evidence that a security programme and its auditors work from. It is built together with Pixel Labs.Interface and UX design, themes, website, SEOepigraph-security.com
Epigraph's website on a desktop and a phone: the headline, Run your security programme from live evidence, not questionnaires, over the six steps from Collect to Report.
Curious Kea
Curious Kea is an interactive story for children from about seven, in which Kea has theories, Rock keeps records, and the player decides where they stand on one claim at a time and says why. It plays in the browser at no cost, in rounds of about five minutes, with no accounts and nothing collected, and its progress stays on the device.Research, design, writing and buildcuriouskea.nz
Curious Kea on a desktop and a phone: a drawn kea on a rock above the title, a story about how we know things, and a play now button.
Homebrew
The homebrew work is a set of sites and tools that share one design and one body of brewing knowledge: a journal of every batch, OpenBrew for running competitions, the Valley Brewer club's site and its judge training, the Euroclash competition's site, a printed brewing notebook you design in the browser and the club's app. Each one has its own row on the homebrew page.Design, web and app developmentA family of sites and tools

360 viewer
A viewer for 360 panoramas that runs in the browser and never uploads the image, made for checking the stitch of a drone panorama with a client before it is delivered.Design and build360viewer.traineffect.co.nz
The 360 viewer on a desktop and a phone.
