RAPT Pill Profile

Notes

My second Euroclash beer, brew went roughly to plan – slightly higher OG than I’d aimed for.

26A Belgian Single

Ferment went well, temperature increased incrementally to 24C, then held for rest phase. At day 13 temperature was decreased to 22C, then 20C, then finally to 4C by day 15.

Transferred to keg for carbonation, plus 1x 750ml shake carb, and 3x 750ml sugar dropped and bottle conditioned.

Transfer to keg

Taste test – very fresh and strong aroma, some banana notes, decent hop presence – it has promise..

Aroma Comments: Really enjoying the aroma, decent hop contributionnfor a Belgian beer style.

Appearance Comments: Head rention not as good as I'd hoped

Flavour Comments: Flavour is balanced between hop and yeast, with yeast being more forward. Grain give good body and doesn't contribute too much to the flavour allowing space for the yeast and hops to interact

Mouthfeel Comments: Good body from the grain, high carbonation without being too much to distract from flavours

Overall Comments: Really enjoying this beer, balances hoppiness with Belgian style yeast into a very drinkable version of the style.
